The National Weather Service is tracking how much snow the nor'easter dropped beyond Massachusetts, and much of the coast — including Boston — missed the bulk of the storm.
The reported totals are much higher to the westward and due north of the city, according to reports shared by the service just before vii p.m. on Tuesday. The reported statewide high is two feet in Lowell, and most of Northeastern, Cardinal, and Western Massachusetts got well over a foot of snow.
Southeastern Massachusetts, particularly Plymouth Canton and Cape Cod, got much less snowfall, reaching but a few inches at well-nigh. The area from around Cape Ann to Boston Harbor also missed most of the snowfall.
"Notice the sharp snowfall gradient in the I-95/RT-128 corridor of #RI & Eastern #MA !," service forecasters wrote. "A brusk distance between a few inches of snow to twenty″+!! A BIG give thanks yous to our snowfall observers."
Below, the totals reported in several Massachusetts towns, according to the service. Most of the following reports are from late Monday night through Tuesday evening, just the totals for Plymouth and Suffolk counties and the city of Cambridge — areas that got little accumulation — are from earlier Mon. Berkshire Canton is reported separately by the NWS Albany office.
